Mielno in Summer 2026: Events and Lake Jamno Accommodation

Mielno in summer means beach concerts, festivals on the boardwalk and busy evenings on the promenade. In 2026 the town's summer arts programme (Mieleńskie Lato Artystyczne) started on 27 June and kept going until the last weekend of August. We're writing this in mid-October, our log cabin on Lake Jamno smells of firewood, and looking back at the listings we're a little amazed at how much went on just a few kilometres away.
Here's our cheat sheet: the Mielno events worth knowing about from summer 2026, what comes back every year, and why we think Podamirowo, on the quiet side of the lake, is a great base for a Baltic holiday.
Podamirowo: where it is and how far to the sea
Podamirowo is a small village on the southern shore of Lake Jamno, on the Polish Baltic coast. Officially it belongs to the Będzino municipality (hence the Dobiesławiec postcode), but day to day it runs on Mielno and Koszalin time. Koszalin is about 10 minutes away by car, the beach in Mielno roughly a quarter of an hour.
Only a narrow spit of land separates Lake Jamno from the Baltic Sea. In practice that means morning coffee looking at the lake and an afternoon swim in the sea, without changing where you stay.
Mielno events in July 2026
July was so packed that we've only picked the dates we think are worth remembering:
- 9 July: Polish rapper donGURALesko played the beach by 1 Maja Street (part of the MielnoGranie concert series, with violinist Sandra Cygan opening).
- 10 July: the sandcastle building championships. For kids, the event of the year. For parents, an hour of peace.
- 17-19 July: cabin yachts raced on Lake Jamno in the Polish championships and the Mayor of Mielno Cup regatta. Same water our cabins look out over.
- 20 July: Kite Day on the beach, then a bonfire evening in Gąski.
- 25 July: Gąski hosted its Roast Goose Festival, with Cliver and Bartek Tecław on stage.
- 29 July: the beach belonged to DJs Gromee and Phil Novy.
Mielno events in August 2026
In August the programme spread along the whole coast, from Unieście through Mielenko and Sarbinowo all the way to Gąski. The bigger moments:
- 2 August: the promenade on Kościuszki Street turned into a Beatles night, "HELP!".
- 7 August: football legend Grzegorz Lato met fans in Unieście, and in the evening Kalwi & Remi played MielnoGranie with Phil Novy.
- 7-9 August: the Sea Festival of Taste and Tradition took over the boardwalk.
- 15 August: a potato festival with sea shanties by Kaszaloty during the day, rapper Tede in concert at 8 pm.
- 21-22 August: Radio ZET set up on the beach by 1 Maja Street.
- 28-30 August: the season closed with three evenings in a row. A water festival with the band Piękni i Młodzi, the final MielnoGranie, and "White Dolphins", the send-off for the summer's lifeguards.
Our personal favourite was morning yoga on the beach. Every day the class moved to a different village (7 am in July, 8 am in August), so if you're driving in from Podamirowo you get an excuse to see a new stretch of shoreline each morning. On warm evenings there was also open-air cinema on deckchairs in Mielenko, Niegoszcz and Sarbinowo.
Things to do with kids around Mielno
If anyone asks us for one thing to do with children, we send them to the fishing village heritage centre in Chłopy (Skarbnica Wioski Rybackiej) and its water balloon battle, held twice in summer 2026, on 29 July and 14 August. A simple idea, and judging by the name, nobody goes home dry.
Throughout the holidays there were also puppet shows on the beaches and an active beach zone with games in several villages. On Lake Jamno itself there's a seasonal floating water park with trampolines and slides. After a day like that, kids tend to fall asleep before you've even lit the fire.
Where to stay: Mielno or Lake Jamno?
We like Mielno in summer, honestly. The Kościuszki Street boardwalk stays busy late, and clubs like Bajka or Harem go until morning. But after a few nights in the crowd most of us start craving quiet, and in peak season that's hard to find in central Mielno.
So if you're looking for accommodation near Mielno, it's worth checking the other side of the lake. You're home in Podamirowo a dozen or so minutes after the last encore. Then it's the terrace, the pines and the lake, and at night mostly the sound of water and birds. In the morning the kids run off to the playground and the grown-ups stay over coffee longer than they meant to.
Log cabins on Lake Jamno: Zielona Przystań
Zielona Przystań is a group of hand-built log houses tucked among the pines by Lake Jamno. House 1 has a fireplace, a terrace, a separate bedroom and a fully equipped kitchen, plus Wi-Fi and parking by the door. There's a playground and a fire pit on site, so the evening doesn't have to end in a restaurant.

You'll find more photos of the interiors and surroundings in our gallery, and full details in the Houses section.
Mielno in 2027 and off-season breaks
The summer arts programme runs every year, so its backbone (MielnoGranie, morning yoga, deckchair cinema, bonfires) has a good chance of returning in summer 2027. The Mielno Culture Centre usually publishes the detailed schedule month by month, just before the season starts. If you're after a specific concert or the last weekend of August, book your stay early.
And if you'd rather not wait until July, our cabins are open all year. Every February Mielno hosts the International Winter Swimmers' Rally (2026 was already the 23rd edition), and after a dip in the February Baltic, a fireplace feels twice as good.
